Vernon Gunlicks, a 50-year-old businessman from Kearney, Nebraska, disappeared under mysterious circumstances on July 6, 1964. Gunlicks was the manager and co-owner of Cashway Candy Company. On the day of his disappearance, he was expected to make a large deposit at a local bank after collecting $1,500 from a customer at a bowling alley in Kearney.
