I can't stop thinking about the club's security or lack thereof. It's baffling to me that they took Mari's mace—something designed for her protection—but somehow missed a firearm? How does that even happen? My heart goes out to Mari's family. She was just about to graduate, for crying out loud! As a senior in college myself, I can't even imagine how devastating this must feel. Those precious last moments, celebrating her achievements, now forever stolen. It's a sad reminder of how urgently we need better security measures in places like this. With Mari and so many others affected, this isn't something we can keep sweeping under the rug. We shouldn't have to fear for our lives when we just want to enjoy a night out. The club needs to be held accountable, and changes need to happen. Where do we even start, though? Any thoughts on what could realistically be done to make these clubs safer?

Did anyone else see the security video released by local news showing the moments leading up to the shooting at Elleven45 Lounge? It's tragic to see such chaos breaking out at what should have been a typical night out. Mari Creighton and Nykris Ridley were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it's devastating to think about the potential Mari had as a student and athlete. I’m surprised to learn that even after such a tragic incident, the club is still operational—especially with all the concerns about their security measures. How could something like this slip through the cracks when they were taking away harmless items like a keychain mace? Honestly, I hope there’s a major overhaul in their security protocols. For the sake of Mari, Nykris, and the four others who were injured, justice needs to be served. My heart truly goes out to their families and friends dealing with this unimaginable pain. Has anyone heard if there have been any updates in the police investigation?

I was just reading more about the tragic incident involving Mari Creighton and can't help but feel angered by the security failures at Elleven45 Lounge. This young woman had her entire life ahead of her, nearing graduation with outstanding achievements both academically and as an athlete. It’s infuriating to hear her family had their protective mace confiscated at the door, while somehow, a firearm slipped through, leading to this devastating loss. This raises so many questions about the enforcement of club security measures. What protocols were in place that night? Was the security trained adequately, and are there any repercussions for such lapses? I truly hope the investigation by the City of Atlanta will bring answers and enforce stricter regulations to prevent tragedies like this from happening again. No family should suffer such an unimaginable loss due to negligence. Sending thoughts to Mari’s family and friends during such a difficult time. What are your thoughts on how security should be handled at these venues to keep people safe?
