Hey folks, I'm just reeling from the loss of another young life here. Martez Toney was only 17, and it's just absolutely devastating to hear about his tragic passing. The community has really taken a hit with this one, and I can't stop thinking about his friends and family who are going through an unimaginable time right now. I was really struck by the fact that a ghost gun was found at the scene. It goes to show how some of these weapons are slipping through the cracks, untraceable and making our streets even more dangerous. It’s troubling, especially with the rise in gun violence around Metro stations lately. I really hope those responsible are brought to justice and that Martez's story is a wake-up call for meaningful change in our neighborhoods. If anyone has thoughts on what can be done or how we can come together as a community to push for safer public spaces, please share. We owe it to Martez and the countless others affected by such senseless acts. Stay safe, everyone.
