Has anyone else been following the tragic situation with Janice Herbert in Tamarac? I can’t shake off how unsettling it is when something like this happens in a supposedly peaceful senior community. It's hard to fathom because these areas are where people settle to enjoy their later years, not to experience such violence. What really gets me is thinking about Janice’s neighbors—many of whom are probably around her age or maybe even older. They must be feeling so shaken. It must be incredibly distressing to suddenly feel unsafe in what you considered a calm, reliable neighborhood. I hope the community can find some peace in the aftermath and that those close to Janice receive the support they need during such an incredibly challenging time. My thoughts are definitely with all of them.

I'm really struggling to wrap my head around what happened to Janice Herbert—it's just so surreal. Living in a neighborhood that's supposed to be peaceful and low-crime, this tragedy hits even harder. I read that Janice's husband, Rolland, tried to stage it as a burglary. It makes me wonder how often people are so close to someone who turns out to be capable of such a thing. How well do we really know our partners? My heart goes out to Janice's family and friends as they try to process such a devastating loss. It must be incredibly difficult for the residents of the community as well, grappling with the realization that something so horrible could happen right next door. Does anyone know if they’re planning a vigil or any community support event? ?
