I just can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on their former teammates. Having both Meghan and Sidney taken so suddenly and senselessly must have been incredibly hard for everyone who knew them at New England College. I imagine the women's hockey locker room feels much emptier now. These teams are like families and losing two members at once must be unimaginable pain. I hope their friends and teammates are finding strength in each other and in shared memories of Meghan and Sidney. It’s touching to see NEC offering counseling services; emotional support is more critical than ever in situations like this. I think it's important for all of us to honor Meghan and Sidney's shared love for hockey and the joy they brought to their team. They may be gone, but they won't be forgotten by those who shared the ice with them.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the tragic case involving Meghan Moore and Sidney Capolino, and it's just so overwhelming to think about the pain their loved ones are going through. I wanted to share something related to Luis Napoles that stood out to me. It's really chilling how situations can escalate. Despite Meghan’s attempts to distance herself, it seems like Luis became fixated on inserting himself into her life, ignoring all boundaries she tried to set.
What’s concerning is how someone can appear to be just an "acquaintance" to others but, in reality, may have crossed countless lines in private. It’s a reminder of how important it is to take concerns seriously when someone feels unsafe, even if nothing overtly dramatic seems to be happening on the surface.
I'm truly hoping that Meghan and Sidney’s case sheds more light on recognizing signs of obsessive behavior and how we can offer better support to those who find themselves in similar distressing situations. My heart goes out to both families and the communities in Mass and N.Y. who are mourning two young women who had so much to share with the world. ?
Stay safe, everyone. Let’s keep the discussion going on how we can better prevent tragedies like this.
RIP Meghan and Sidney.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this tragic situation involving Meghan and Sidney. The more I read about it, the more my heart goes out to their families and friends. I'm especially troubled by how Luis Napoles managed to be around Meghan even after she'd clearly tried to distance herself from him. It makes me wonder about the effectiveness of the systems we have in place to protect people from obsessive individuals. Were there any red flags that could have been acted upon by authorities, or did Meghan seek help before this nightmare unfolded?
It’s also painful to hear how both women were thriving in their post-college lives, making names for themselves in new surroundings, only to have it all taken away so senselessly. New England College and the larger community feel the loss in a profound way. There’s a lot of talk about their bright personalities and achievements on the ice, and it's just so difficult to reconcile the image of their vibrant lives with this horrific end. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who loved them.
