I can't stop thinking about Tommie Lamore Johnson III's tragic death in South Miami-Dade. I'm finding it so hard to wrap my head around how a 16-year-old like Marquie Mcbride could be involved in something so horrific. It's devastating for Tommie's loved ones who have to deal with this unimaginable loss. At the same time, it's heartbreaking for Mcbride’s family too, who now have to navigate the legal repercussions and the reality that their child is facing such serious charges. It just makes me wonder what we're missing as a society that kids turn to violence so young. I hope both families find some measure of peace and that we, as a community, can work together towards change. The cycle of violence has to stop. My thoughts are with everyone involved.
