I’ve been thinking about the community response following the tragic deaths of Lury and little Manny Pizarro in Brooklyn, CT. It's been truly moving to see everyone come together during such a devastating time. The outpouring of love and support, especially through the GoFundMe campaign, shows the strength and compassion of this community. I can’t even imagine the pain their family and friends are going through right now. It’s also made me reflect on the wider issue of gun violence and how it forces us to come together and take a stand on such important matters. While support and fundraising efforts are a beautiful way to help the family, I hope this also sparks ongoing conversations about how to prevent tragedies like this in the future. Let’s keep Lury and Manny in our thoughts and continue supporting initiatives that aim to bring about real change in how we approach these situations.
