I've been thinking a lot about the community's reaction to Joe's passing. I've read about how close-knit Blytheville is, and it sounds like Joe was really embedded in the community through his church and family. I'm curious if anyone here knows more about the support systems that have been set up for his family, especially his children. Losing a loved one is unimaginably difficult, and I can only hope that there is a strong network rallying around them right now.

I’ve been reflecting on the tragic loss of Joe L. Newmy Jr., and I can’t stop thinking about his children. It’s unfathomable to imagine what they've been through, losing a father at such a young age. Joe leaves behind eight kids, which is a huge responsibility for his wife, Nyesha. It seems like he was a real family man, always there for his little ones.
I found it particularly touching that Joe was part of the New MT Olive M.B. Church. Those church communities often rally around families during times like this, providing comfort and support, but it doesn’t take away the pain. I hope the church community is there for Nyesha and the children in the ways they need during such a difficult time.
It’s genuinely devastating that gun violence has once again shattered another family. I truly hope that justice comes swiftly for Joe and his loved ones.
