Hello, I see people asking about the timeline. Benjamin was questioned when she had first disappeared but wasn't arrested so they must not have had enough proof at the time. It is known that shortly after he murdered her at Paradise Valley Rd, he was seen in Lynden, WA so maybe having him placed there made it hard to prove at the time it was him? No one in his family ever suspected him as the murderer. For some background on Benjamin, he was born a drug baby. When he got older, he made a bad decision to do some drugs which caused him to develop schizophrenia. No one before this in his family knew what exactly was wrong with him. Although they knew something was wrong with him, they would have never guessed he would do this. It was known he would disappear for a long while and no one would know where he was or what he was up to. Before the drugs and schizophrenia, he was a normal person. But after all that and over the years it has gotten worse and he has become a shadow of the person he was before. The 12 years he was given to him before everything really wasn't long enough.

I agree, 12yrs is not enough for taking a life. I would think he is still a danger to society. People that have mental health issues as severe as that should not be out walking around.

I’ve been reading up on Dawn Ruger's case, and something really stood out to me. I noticed that Benjamin Price confessed more than a year after she went missing. It's mind-boggling to think about the level of deception he maintained during that time. Does anyone know if he was ever a suspect earlier in the investigation? It seems like the people close to Dawn might have suspected something was off. It's chilling to think he could just go on with life as if nothing happened. Would love to hear if anyone has insights or remembers any local chatter from back then.
I've been reading a lot about Dawn Ruger's case and something that's been bothering me is the length of the sentence Benjamin Price received. He was only given 12 years for confessing to killing her and burying her in a shallow grave. It just doesn't seem enough, given the circumstances. I understand that he confessed, which might have played a part in the sentencing, but considering this was a clear case of intimate partner violence ending in murder, it feels like justice wasn't entirely served. What are everyone's thoughts on the sentencing aspect? Should laws be stricter for cases involving domestic violence leading to murder? I'd love to hear everyone's opinions.
Hey everyone, just wanted to chime in with some thoughts on the Dawn Ruger case. I've been digging into old articles and reports, and something that stands out to me is how it took over a year and a half for Benjamin Price to finally confess. Does anyone else find this timeline strange? I can't help but wonder if there were any missed opportunities for law enforcement to crack the case sooner. It seems like there might have been signs of trouble in their relationship that were overlooked. It makes me think there should be more awareness and resources focusing on potential red flags, especially in isolated areas like Paradise Valley. Would love to hear if anyone has more insight or theories about why it took so long for things to come to light.
