Mathieu Joseph Landry was 20 when he disappeared from Juara, a small village on Tioman Island, Malaysia, after leaving the cabin where he was renting to go for a walk on February 16, 1994. He had traveled from the Moncton, New Brunswick, area with a traveling companion and did not take his passport, clothing, backpack, or other personal effects; those items remained at the resort. Sunglasses belonging to him were later found on the beach, and both land and water searches — including police divers — were conducted without locating him.

Born June 19, 1973, Mathieu lived in St. Anselme after growing up in Memramcook East, graduated École Mathieu-Martin in 1991, attended the Université de Moncton for two years, and had worked for Armour Transport. Authorities ultimately presumed he drowned, but his remains were never recovered and no confirmed sighting after February 16, 1994, has been documented.

Does anyone who visited Juara in mid-February 1994 or knew Mathieu remember his walk that day or sightings along the shoreline?
