Mathieu Joseph Landry was 20 years old when he disappeared on February 16, 1994, while staying in Juara, a small village on Tioman Island in Malaysia. The young man had traveled from the Moncton, New Brunswick, area to Malaysia for a vacation and was sharing the trip with a traveling companion. During his stay, Mathieu was renting a cabin in Juara.
