I've been digging into the Isabelle Brooks case, and something that's been puzzling me is the timing of her departure. March in Ontario isn't exactly the warmest time of year, and the fact that she left on foot, supposedly for a week, just raises so many questions for me. If she was planning to be away that long, wouldn't she have mentioned where she was going or arranged for some kind of transportation? Also, considering her petite build and the fact she wore glasses, it seems risky for someone her age to embark on a long journey by herself. Could it be possible she had a destination in mind that was nearby, or perhaps more local than initially assumed? That area has changed so much since the '70s, but back then, rural pathways might have led to other countryside homes or even farmsteads. I'm just trying to piece together the logistics of her leaving and how quickly such a seemingly pedestrian journey could take such a tragic and mysterious turn.
