On a March evening in 1972, 68-year-old Isabelle Brooks was at her home in Markham, Ontario, a residence she shared with her husband, Aubrey, at the southwest corner of Highway 7 and the 10th Concession. According to her husband, Isabelle put on a black or maroon coat and a bandana-style scarf, telling him she was leaving and would be back in about one week.
