It's been seven years since Tomas Ornelas and Nasbah Wright lost their lives in such a senseless act of violence. I keep thinking about how Tomas was just an ordinary guy on his way to work, trying to lend a helping hand in what must have been a terrifying moment for Nasbah. It's truly devastating to think about how they both ended up in the path of Christopher Wright's rage. Tomas's decision to stop and help a stranger in distress speaks volumes of his character, and I can't imagine the pain his family must feel to this day. My heart goes out to everyone impacted by this tragedy. It's hard not to wonder if things might have turned out differently had the warnings been heeded. Hoping for strength for both families as they continue to navigate life after such a loss.

I've been thinking about Tomas Ornelas and the tragic situation he found himself in. He was just on his way to work, like so many of us do every day, and suddenly he was thrust into a nightmare scenario. It's hard to imagine the fear and confusion he must have felt when Nasbah approached his truck seeking help. It's absolutely crushing to realize that in trying to assist someone in need, his life was taken. My heart truly goes out to his family and loved ones who must cope with this senseless loss. Tomas demonstrated immense bravery and compassion in that moment, and I hope his family finds some solace in knowing he is remembered for these qualities. It's yet another reminder of how precious and unpredictable life can be. I wish strength and peace for all those affected by this terrible event.
