Something that often gets overlooked in cases like Clifford Boyle's is the weather conditions at the time of the incident. I did some digging, and July 24, 1972, was reported to have varying weather patterns throughout Georgian Bay. There were strong winds and some turbulent waters mentioned in weather reports for that day. If he was near the rear and left side of the deck when last seen, as records say, perhaps a sudden wave or a shift in the ship due to wind could have contributed to him losing balance and falling overboard. It's frustrating because such environmental factors could have played a crucial role, yet there's hardly any mention of it in reports. Makes you wonder if weather considerations could provide some insight when such disappearances occur in open waters. Would love to know if anyone has expertise in maritime incidents and weather effects—maybe some perspectives on that could shed light on what might have happened.
