I've been following Derrick Chavez's case since it happened, and it still baffles me that there wasn't more immediate media coverage back in 2017. For someone who vanished under such concerning circumstances, you would think there would have been a larger outcry, especially with the Brittany Alert issued. It's frustrating how quickly these cases can fade from the public eye, particularly when they involve minority communities. I feel like the lack of attention might have played a part in the lack of new leads or developments. It makes you wonder how things might have been different if this case had gotten more exposure. Anyone else feel like media and public rallying can really make a difference in these situations?
