Has anyone else seen the body camera footage released by the Phoenix Police from the Desert Sky Mall shooting? It's really something... gives a lot of context to what happened that day. I can't shake the thought of Alejandro Martinez and how his life was cut so short. It's difficult to wrap your head around the fact that a trip to the mall turned deadly for him, just due to an argument. While it's commendable that the police are being transparent with the footage, you can't help but think about how Alejandro's family must feel seeing their son's last moments played out like that. I also wonder if this will finally push the mall management to really step up security. It's pretty clear the current situation isn’t working. Business owners have been voicing their concerns, and now they have even more reason to do so. Places like malls should feel safe for everyone, especially for teenagers who think of it as somewhere fun to hang out. It's just so frustrating to see that it takes another tragic loss before real action might be taken.
