Hey everyone, I’ve been following the tragic incident involving Hery Almeida-Garcia and can't get it out of my mind. It's such a devastating situation for someone so young to be taken like that. I was reading some updates and noticed that the suspect in custody is only 18. I can't help but think about how this tragedy is not just painful for Hery’s friends and family but also for the suspect’s family. Their lives are forever changed too, in a different, yet deeply impactful way. It makes me wonder about the factors leading up to such devastating decisions for someone so young. Were there any warnings, signs, or even opportunities to intervene before it got to this point? As tragic as this incident is, I think it shines a glaring light on the need for more community programs focusing on youth engagement and conflict resolution. Not to mention, for ongoing support for all those mourning Hery's loss. My heart goes out to all the families involved. I truly hope that they find some measure of peace and that justice is served appropriately.
