Did anyone notice the detail about Alexander Lee Smith fleeing to Illinois only to return to Arizona later? It makes me curious about what might have driven him back. Was he running out of resources, or did he feel some sort of compulsion to come back? The fact that he was caught a year after the incident just shows how relentless law enforcement can be in seeking justice for the victims. I can’t imagine what the families of Walter and Susie went through in that year without answers. Hopefully, this arrest brings some solace, though it won't erase the loss of their loved ones.
