I can't stop thinking about Roy Orozco's memorial. It's just incredibly touching to see how many people have come together to honor his memory. There's something deeply moving about the candles, flowers, and notes left by people who may not have known him personally but felt compelled to pay their respects. It's a testament to the impact he had on those around him and the void his absence has left in the community. I hope his family, especially Brisa, feels the support and love that everyone is sending their way. And props to the community for rallying around his family with the GoFundMe; it's essential they know they're not alone during such an incredibly challenging time. Does anyone have updates on how Brisa and the rest of the family are holding up?
I came across the tragic case of Roy Orozco, and my heart goes out to his friends and family during this incredibly difficult time. In reading about the incident, I noticed that there’s been a lot of discussion about the issue of gun violence in Phoenix. It’s alarming how frequently these tragedies seem to occur, not just in Phoenix but across the country.
I wanted to bring up something I haven’t seen as much conversation about: the importance of community support in the aftermath of such incidents. The memorial and GoFundMe set up in Roy's honor are beautiful gestures that highlight how communities can come together to offer support and healing to a grieving family. It’s remarkable how much a community can lift one another up during these moments of profound loss, and it speaks volumes about the kind of person Roy must have been to inspire such a response.
I'd love to hear thoughts on how communities elsewhere have successfully rallied around victims’ families, or any ideas on how we, as a community, can continue to support the Orozcos beyond donations. Creating lasting change certainly feels daunting, but together I believe we can make a difference.
I'm still in shock after hearing about what happened to Roy Orozco. I didn't know him personally, but I've seen several tribute posts online, and it's clear he was loved by many. I heard that there's a memorial set up for him near 27th Drive and Campbell Avenue. If anyone has visited, can you share what the atmosphere is like? I think it's powerful when a community comes together to honor someone tragically lost like this. It's crucial to also discuss what measures we can take to address gun violence in our communities. Sending all my thoughts and love to Roy’s family and friends during this terrible time.
