I've been following Joshua Hartwig's case, and something has been on my mind. Some witnesses mentioned hearing an argument between a man and a woman about 30 minutes before the shooting took place. While it seems like the authorities don't believe Joshua was involved in that altercation, I can't help but wonder if it was connected in some way? Could the shooter have been involved in that argument and fired shots out of retaliation or anger? It's heartbreaking to think that Joshua might have been an innocent bystander caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. I really hope the police can piece together the events leading up to this senseless tragedy. Sending love to Joshua's family and everyone who knew him.
I wanted to discuss the lingering impact Josh's kindness had on our community. I've been attending FoodNet where he volunteered, and his absence is palpable. Everyone there knew him for his cheerful spirit and his genuine concern for others. His habit of giving people a smile and a hug left a lasting impression, and it's hard to believe someone with such a big heart could be taken so suddenly and violently. It’s bittersweet seeing people inspired by his legacy, continuing the volunteer work he was so passionate about. I often reflect on how vibrant he was, especially during Nebraska Husker games, and it's comforting, yet sobering, to see his influence in the volunteer community continuing despite his tragic absence. Hoping we can continue spreading the kindness and joy Joshua exemplified.
