Has anyone else been thinking about the role that routine can play in preventing tragedies like the one that happened to Afton Teague? I can't imagine the guilt and sorrow her husband must be feeling right now. It seems like such a tragic lapse in what might have been an otherwise regular practice.
I've been reading through the reports, and it struck me how crucial it is to have consistent and safe routines when handling firearms, especially when transitioning from use at the range to cleaning at home. I know people say that accidents happen, but it doesn't make the pain any less severe for those left behind.
My heart truly goes out to the family and friends who are probably reliving those moments, wondering what could have been done differently. I hope this encourages others to double-check their own practices, even if they consider themselves experienced gun owners. It's a stark reminder that complacency can have dire consequences.

Imagine being involved, albeit accidentally, in an incident that takes away someone you love so much. It's probably a living nightmare for him. It's a stark reminder to all of us about how crucial it is to double-check everything when handling firearms. While we can’t undo what happened, we can certainly keep her memory alive by advocating for greater awareness around gun safety. My heart goes out to the entire Teague family and everyone who knew and loved her.
