I've been following the Brett Torres case closely, and one thing that really sticks with me is the role of eyewitness testimonies in the trial. Their testimonies ended up being crucial in the conviction, but it must have been such a heavy burden to bear. I can't help but think of the impact this experience has had on their lives too. It's a painful reminder of how many people can be affected by a single act of violence. My heart goes out to all involved, especially Brett's family and friends who had to endure hearing those details again and again.
