On a spring afternoon in North Platte, Nebraska, the life of 25-year-old Brett Allen Torres was brought to a sudden and violent end. It was May 22, 2020, when authorities were called to an alley in the 100 block of North Chestnut Street. There, they discovered the young man unresponsive inside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Great Plains Health but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
