Hey everyone,
I've been reading through posts and thinking about the impact Bryan Rivers' death had on his family and the wider Wilmington community. It's so difficult to grasp how one person's life can be taken so suddenly and senselessly due to gun violence. Knowing that Bryan was a father of five, I can't help but feel for his kids and the unimaginable loss they're enduring. Each child is experiencing life without their father, which is something no one should go through.
It's also upsetting that so many cases like Bryan's remain unresolved. I understand the Cold Case Unit is doing its best, but the number of unsolved cases seems overwhelming. It's crucial for the community to keep these stories alive so they don't fade away into just numbers. Families deserve answers and justice, and until these cases are solved, the pain just lingers on.
Does anyone have any ideas on how we can support the families left behind and help raise awareness? It just feels like we need to do more to bring these cases back into the spotlight.
Hoping for peace and closure for Bryan's family and all affected by these tragic events.

I recently came across the tragic case of Bryan Rivers while looking into Wilmington’s troubling history with gun violence. It’s devastating to see how the city was struggling during that time, with so many families forced to deal with unexpected losses. Bryan’s death on June 30, 2014, marks another instance of a life cut short, and what stands out most to me is the unanswered questions surrounding his murder. It’s been years now, and I just can't imagine the pain his children and loved ones must be going through without closure. The Wilmington Police Department's efforts to solve cold cases are commendable, but it’s disheartening that many cases, like Bryan’s, remain unsolved. These families need answers, and it highlights the immense importance of community involvement. Sharing new information or memories, however small they may seem, could be crucial to finally bringing justice to Bryan and others like him. My heart goes out to each of his children, who have had to grow up without their father, and his entire family. They deserve peace and resolution. If anyone knows anything, even the smallest details, I hope they find the courage to come forward. Bryan’s story may have become a statistic in the broader problems Wilmington faced, but he was an individual with a family who loved him and misses him dearly.
