It’s heartbreaking how much love was torn away that day, not just for her family but for everyone who knew her. It makes you wonder how the authorities couldn’t see the ticking time bomb that Steven was, given his past threats and stalking. This raises so many questions about how our system deals with domestic violence. How can we ensure that protection orders actually protect? I hope we see changes that honor Amy, Coty, and Monica by preventing such tragedies from happening again. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this unimaginable loss.
