On the morning of April 22, 2019, 43-year-old Jeromy Wade Bryant was found shot to death inside a residence in Kevin, Montana. The Toole County Sheriff’s Office responded and the investigation identified 50-year-old Richard A. Moench of Shelby as a suspect.
A perimeter was set up and a police negotiator and multiple agencies were called in; negotiators secured the woman’s safe release.
Negotiations with Moench continued but he fired on officers from inside the house. Officers returned fire, and when they entered the residence they found Moench deceased. The matter was turned over to the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation for further handling.
If anyone in Kevin or Shelby remembers unusual activity or has information about Bryant or the events of April 22, 2019, please come forward.
