I was reading up on the Michael "Topher" Christopher Clark case, and it struck me how chaotic the scene must have been outside the Tipsy Pine that night. From what I gather, the bar isn’t typically known for severe incidents like this. It makes me wonder about the impact that such violence has on local bars and the communities they serve. It must be incredibly difficult for the employees and patrons who witnessed something so traumatic to return to any semblance of normalcy. Also, I can't help but think about the man that Michael was with a storied past that included not just his involvement with marijuana smuggling, but the time he served for it. Despite his checkered history, he also seemed to be trying to rebuild his life. It’s such a tragedy when a life is cut short, and the ripple effect it creates is felt by everyone who knew him. My heart goes out to Michael's family and friends — I can’t imagine the pain they’re feeling.
