Has anyone else noticed how the escalation of conflicts in neighbor disputes often gets overlooked until it's too late? The tragic loss of Kenna Guardipee and her family just hits so hard. We often hear about these disputes turning violent, but rarely does it feel as close to home as it does for those in Kellogg right now. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this senseless act of violence. It's so important for communities to have resources and mediation services readily available to hopefully prevent such tragedies. I can't even begin to imagine the pain their loved ones are feeling. Thoughts are with all of them.

Has anyone else been reflecting on the role of neighborhood disputes in tragic events like this one? It's so unsettling to think how something that might start as a simple disagreement can end in the unthinkable. The Guardipee family—Kenna, her father Kenneth, and her sons Devin and Aiken—didn't deserve what happened. I can't even begin to fathom the pain their surviving family must be going through right now. I’ve been pondering whether there were missed opportunities for intervention before it got to this point. Was there a moment when things could have been de-escalated? It’s a sobering reminder of how crucial it is for communities to have resources and awareness around conflict mediation. I hope we can learn from this awful event and work towards preventing anything like this from happening again. Thoughts?
