I've been following the case of William Souder and William Cureton recently and something that's been on my mind is the location of the crime scene. The intersection of 18th Street and Savannah Street, SE in DC is a busy area, even late at night. Does anyone else find it odd that no one seems to have witnessed or heard anything that could have helped police make more progress on this case? It feels like someone must have seen something or has information they're hesitant to share. I can only imagine the pain and frustration William's family must be going through, still waiting for answers all these years later. If you were in that area on the night of October 14, 2005, even if you think what you know is small or insignificant, please consider coming forward. It could make all the difference in solving this tragic case.

Hey everyone, I’ve been reading up on the tragic case of William Souder and William Cureton, and there’s something that’s been bothering me. It’s been nearly 18 years since that horrendous night, and I keep thinking about how difficult it must be for their families to deal with the fact that the case is still unsolved. I really feel for them – it’s one thing to lose someone you love, but it’s another to not have closure or justice. Has anyone else here thought about the role of community outreach in cases like this? I mean, it’s often the smaller details that break cases wide open. I’m curious if there are initiatives underway in the area to bolster community cooperation with the MPD’s Violent Crimes Branch. I read that they’ve set up anonymous channels to report tips, which is great, but I wonder if more could be done to encourage those who might know something to come forward. We all know how essential it is for people in the community to share what they know, even if it seems insignificant. I just hope that anyone with even the tiniest piece of information finds the courage to speak up so that William Souder and his loved ones can finally get the answers they deserve. Anyone else have thoughts on how we can help increase public engagement on this case?

I was just reading up on the double homicide of William Souder and William Cureton from 2005, and one thing that really stood out to me is the lack of security footage from the area. It's baffling to think that a busy intersection like 18th and Savannah wouldn't have any cameras capturing what happened that night. Given how vital surveillance footage can be in piecing together these tragedies, it makes me wonder if there might have been destroyed or missing cameras around that time. It's so frustrating for the families to not have these critical details that could potentially lead to answers. If anyone lived or worked around there at the time and remembers something about the neighborhood safety or surveillance, it could be a huge help. Just putting this out there in hopes it triggers some memories. My heart genuinely goes out to their loved ones. They deserve to know what happened that night.
