Does anyone have more details about the location of Joao Dos Santos when the chase started? I'm trying to piece together what might have led up to the horrific events on Canal Street. It's so troubling to think about the fear Joao must have felt being pursued like that. The thought of him driving the wrong way down a one-way street just shows the desperation to escape whatever threat was posed by the other car. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. The randomness and violence of it all are just so unsettling. If anyone has any information that could help lead to an arrest or at least shed some light on what happened that night, please step forward. Joao and Dimitri's families deserve justice and some sense of closure.
It's so difficult to make sense of a tragedy like Joao Dos Santos' murder. I read that he tried to escape by driving the wrong way down Canal Street, which must’ve been terrifying. Thinking about how desperate he must have felt to take that drastic measure breaks my heart. It's unsettling that such a violent incident could happen in the early hours right in the heart of Providence. I can only imagine the grief his family and friends are going through.
If anyone was near Canal Street or the Roger Williams National Memorial that night and saw anything, please consider reaching out to law enforcement. Even the smallest details might help bring some justice for Joao’s family. His loss is incredibly painful, and having answers could hopefully provide some small measure of comfort.
