Hey everyone, I recently came across the tragic case of Agents Don Simpson and Bill Lakanen and can't help but feel deeply for their families. One aspect that really caught my attention was the ceremony held in 2015 by the Wyoming Game Wardens Association at Jack Creek Park. It's almost 70 years later, and the community still remembers and honors their brave service. It’s heartening to see that their sacrifice hasn't been forgotten over time. Does anyone have more info about this ceremony or know someone who attended? It would be interesting to hear more about how these events help keep their memory alive in the community. Kudos to the families for their perseverance and to all those involved in commemorating these agents. They are true heroes in the book of many. Stay safe, everyone. ?

I’ve been diving into this case for a bit and something really sticks out to me—the transformation of Johann Malten's cabin into a scorched ruin. There’s something chilling about a cabin, likely filled with the remnants of someone's life, being reduced to ashes. It makes me wonder if Malten set it ablaze himself in a final act of defiance or if someone else did it to cover up the evidence. Given the brutality of the attack, it’s scary to think Malten could just vanish without a trace. I feel for Agent Simpson’s family; they were left with so many unanswered questions and probably a lingering fear that the person responsible just disappeared into thin air. It's such a profound loss, and the lack of closure must be a heavy burden. I hope someday the truth comes to light, not just for the families of those two brave agents but also so that this story can finally find an ending.
