I can't stop thinking about the two teenagers who got caught up in the tragedy at 3436 E. 11th Street. They're just kids! Their lives will never be the same after witnessing something so horrendous and almost losing their own lives. It's terrifying to think about the trauma they must be experiencing, not to mention the physical recovery. Whatever the motive or state of mind Andrew Weaver had, nothing justifies the pain and suffering inflicted on these young boys and the families of Shaline Wymer and Adrien Butler. I hope the community of Cheyenne surrounds them with love and support as they begin their long journey of healing. It’s a stark reminder of how senseless violence can ripple through so many lives. I’m sure like me, others are holding their loved ones a little closer tonight.

Can anyone else wrap their heads around the fact that this all happened because of a gun trade gone horribly wrong? It's just surreal how quickly these situations can escalate, and innocent lives are lost in the crossfire. I can't stop thinking about the mindsets of those two teenagers who just happened to be there. They were only 14, and now they're left to carry the trauma of that day with them forever. I hope the community in Cheyenne is rallying around them and providing the support they need to heal, physically and emotionally. It's a stark reminder of how dangerous these illegal deals can be and how they can shatter so many lives in an instant. My heart goes out to Shaline and Adrien’s families and to the families of those injured boys. The ripple effect of this tragedy has to be immense.
