I've been following the Victor King and Jesus Vera-Leon case closely, and something that's been really sticking with me is the role of the officers who were nearby when the shooting happened. They were right there when it all went down—literally just blocks away—and responded so quickly. It makes you wonder what they saw and heard that night, and how it felt for them to arrive at such a tragic scene. It's easy to forget in these situations that first responders carry the weight of these events long after the rest of us have moved on. I'm hoping that whatever they witnessed will help bring clarity to this investigation and eventually lead to justice for Victor and Jesus. My thoughts go out to their families during this incredibly difficult time.
