Was anyone else struck by the complexity and tragedy surrounding Malaki Lee McBride's trial? I just keep thinking about how young both Tyrone Torres and McBride were at the time—two lives changed forever in such a devastating manner. The appeals court's decision to overturn the murder conviction due to the jury instruction error adds another layer of heartbreak to an already tragic story. I can't imagine what Torres' family has been through, dealing with both their loss and the twists and turns of the legal process.
