In the summer of 2020, a fifty-year-old Hispanic female named Diana Gabriela Alamilla was found deceased in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On the evening of July 11, officers with the Hot Springs Police Department arrived at an apartment in the 300 block of Laser Street to conduct a welfare check. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of Diana inside her residence. It was later determined by investigators that her body had been there for a minimum of three days before being found.
