I'm really struck by the dedication and bravery of Deputy Marshal D.J. Kinney. To approach such a dangerous situation, especially during those times without all the resources available today, it speaks volumes about his character and commitment to keeping the community safe. I can only imagine the courage it took to step into the unknown, knowing the potential risks involved with every call. It's so important that Deputy Marshal Kinney's sacrifice is remembered and honored. I hope his family and descendants feel a sense of pride in his legacy and commitment to public service. I often think about how this story and others like it highlight the dangers officers faced back then—and still face today. Any thoughts on how law enforcement has evolved in terms of safety?
