Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Officer Harmon Barton Patridge from Bessemer, and I can't stop thinking about the family he left behind. It must have been so difficult for them, especially since it seemed like he'd pull through after getting shot. The sudden shift from hope to tragedy due to blood poisoning just hits hard.
I'm curious if anyone knows more about how the community or the police department supported his family during that time? It must have been an overwhelming situation for them, losing someone who was not only a husband and father but also someone who dedicated his life to keeping others safe. If anyone has any articles or resources about that era's support for officers' families, I'd love to learn more.
Thinking of Officer Patridge and hoping his story continues to be shared and remembered. Stay safe, everyone.
