Hey everyone, I’ve been reading up on the tragic case of Agent Alexander M. McGill, and one thing that really stands out to me is how the community of Elrod came together in the aftermath of his murder. It’s incredible to see the support for his family from both locals and fellow law enforcement officers from nearby towns. I came across a few mentions of memorial services that were held in his honor, and it seems like people showed up in droves to pay their respects. I can’t even imagine the pain his family must have gone through, especially around the holiday season. It’s comforting to know that even back in 1912, communities rallied around in times of need. Does anyone have more information on how his colleagues in law enforcement carried on after his passing or any specific stories from the memorials? Would love to hear from those who know more or have come across other references in historical records. Stay safe, everyone.
