I can’t stop thinking about the ripple effects Officer Underwood’s death must have had on his department and community. Being an officer for 22 years, I can only imagine the strong bonds he developed with his fellow officers and the mentorship roles he played for new recruits. The loss of such an experienced, guiding presence must have weighed heavily on them. The role of mentoring is often overlooked in these discussions, but it’s such an integral component of a seasoned officer's contribution. Felix Underwood wasn’t just serving his community; he was shaping the future of his department. My heart goes out to anyone who had the privilege of knowing him and learning from him. They say it’s the quiet, everyday moments that people miss most, and I bet there were plenty with Felix.
