Jermaine Lamont Tinch, 23, was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car in the 3600 block of New York Avenue NE in Washington, D.C., in the early morning of March 2, 2008. Police and emergency responders discovered him shortly after 3:30 a.m.; he had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper torso, was alive when taken to Prince George’s Hospital Center, but was pronounced dead shortly after 4 a.m.
Investigators determined he was likely shot at a different location and managed to drive himself to the New York Avenue intersection before stopping. The Metropolitan Police Department opened a homicide investigation and has continued to seek public assistance; a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. There have been no public announcements of arrests or identified suspects.
