I've been thinking a lot about the night Nicholas Gardner was shot. What strikes me most is the location—Jefferson Place Apartments on Texas Street. I used to live not far from there, and it was always one of those places you just wouldn't expect something so tragic to happen. It's quite unsettling to realize such a devastating event took place in a seemingly typical residential area. I'm wondering if anyone has more context about the apartment complex itself, like was it known for any kind of trouble or strange occurrences around that time? It just goes to show how quickly things can change and how no place is really "safe." My thoughts are with Nicholas' family—they must've been left with so many unanswered questions. It's just awful that a young person with so much potential is no longer here.
