I came across an interesting detail related to Piotr Drabik's case that got me thinking. It's about his stopover in Salt Lake City. Why would someone like Piotr, an experienced traveler, have such an extended layover there before continuing to Hawaii? Was it just a simple layover, or could there have been another reason for him being there? Considering his adventurous spirit, is it possible that he planned some kind of activity or meeting in Utah that wasn’t originally mentioned? It's not uncommon for outdoor enthusiasts to seize any opportunity for adventure, even during a layover. Did anyone look into whether Piotr might've had connections or planned activities in Utah? It raises more questions about how he spent those three critical days before buying the ticket to Kauai. Lots of gaps in the timeline that need filling in for sure.
Has anyone looked into the possibility that Piotr might have had plans to meet someone in Hawaii? I know it's been a long time since he went missing, but it's odd that there's that gap between his sighting in Salt Lake City and the ticket purchase for Kauai. Did he possibly change flights or travel plans at the last minute? And if so, why?
I wonder if authorities could revisit airport security footage or check overlooked records for any hints of a travel buddy we might not know about. His background in mountaineering and science might mean he had connections in the adventure or research communities over there. An accidental run-in with someone familiar with the area might have led him off the beaten path, literally or figuratively. Could he have been offered a private opportunity for exploration that went wrong?
If he had a local contact, planned or unexpected, maybe they could shed some light on what happened. Any other theories on what might have drawn him to Kauai specifically, or if his plans could have changed post-arrival?
