Hey everyone, I’ve been following Cam Toles' case from Birmingham and keep thinking about his family’s effort in advocating for an end to youth violence. This tragedy seems to have really ignited a passion in them to prevent other families from enduring the same pain. I wonder if the local community has seen any measurable changes or initiatives since the incident? Did Cam’s family receive any visible community support or create organizations to raise awareness? It's hard to imagine the strength it takes to turn such overwhelming grief into action for change, and my heart goes out to them. Looking forward to what you all think or if anyone has insights on how the community has progressed since then. Stay safe out there.

I’ve been following the case of Cameron Toles, and something that really sticks with me is the effect this is having on the Birmingham community, especially the young people who knew him and Robert Clark. From what I’ve seen, the local schools have been trying to support students, but it’s such a heavy situation for teenagers to process. It got me thinking about the role schools and community programs have in both prevention and healing. Do any of you have insights or experiences with community initiatives that have been effective in similar situations? It feels like there needs to be more than just increased security—perhaps more activities that engage kids and give them a sense of belonging and purpose. It’s just so sad to see promising lives altered so drastically. My thoughts are with all of Cameron's friends and family right now.
