On the evening of September 10, 2008, gunfire broke out on the 100 block of Anacostia Road, SE in Washington, D.C. At about 9:40 PM officers found 35-year-old Lamont Williams suffering from a gunshot wound; he died of his injuries. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch investigated the killing but no arrests have been announced and no suspects were publicly identified.

An obituary and remembrances described Williams as a beloved son and father, survived by his mother, Denise Jackson, along with other relatives and friends who recalled him as caring, funny, and strong. The case later went cold and remains open, with the police offering a substantial reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

If anyone knew Lamont, saw activity on Anacostia Road that night, or has information that could help the investigation, contact the Metropolitan Police Department.
