I came across some thoughts about the timing of this tragedy and just felt the need to share. It's almost surreal to think that Jimmy Frizzle was taken from this world just an hour and a half before a community prayer vigil against violence was supposed to happen. It feels like such a cruel twist of fate. How many times must this community gather and speak out against the violence, only to have it claim another life beforehand? It’s really frustrating to hear about Jahmal Thomas’s experience—finding his uncle right after hearing those shots. I cannot imagine the shock and pain he must have felt in that moment. It's just a reminder of the painful reality so many families are facing these days. I truly hope that authorities can find the person responsible so the family can have some semblance of justice. In times like these, coming together seems more important than ever. My heart goes out to Jimmy's family, especially his daughter Daija. I hope the community can rally around them and find ways to support and uplift each other. If anyone has any insights on community initiatives or vigils planned in Jimmy's memory, please share. It would be great to see how folks are working to honor him and push for positive change.
