Hi everyone, I've been following the Lakota Barak Miller case for a while, and I can't stop thinking about the role the abandoned house might've played in this tragedy. It's so sad to think that Lakota might have crossed paths with his killer because of its reputation for squatters and criminal activity. It's disheartening to see these neglected properties becoming hubs for dangerous activities. Neighborhood leaders like Robert Walker have pointed out the past police efforts to monitor such places more closely, and it's upsetting to consider that a lapse in this kind of oversight could contribute to such a terrible outcome. Lakota's family must be reeling from all this, especially knowing all he was trying to do was make it back to his loved ones. It's a chilling reminder that more needs to be done to keep our neighborhoods safe and prevent such tragedies from happening to anyone else. I also think about the impact on Lakota's little boy. The community needs to rally around him and his family during this unimaginably tough time. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this senseless crime. Let's keep discussing ways our voices can lead to changes that make each neighborhood a safe place for everyone. Take care, everyone.

I was thinking about the role that vacant houses play in tragedies like the one that claimed Lakota's life. It seems they're more than just eyesores; they're dangerous magnets for illegal activities. It's awful to think that a place meant for shelter became the site of something so awful. I can't imagine what Lakota's family is going through, especially his mother and son. It makes you wonder, could more community involvement or reinstituted police patrolling of these abandoned sites have made a difference? It seemed like Robert Walker thought there could have been a chance to prevent this if the old police checks were still happening. Maybe it's time to bring those back. Hoping for some constructive conversations on how communities can rally together to protect each other and prevent future losses. My condolences go out to the Miller family; this should never have happened.

I’ve been following the case of Lakota Barak Miller and can’t help but wonder about the state of the house where he was found. It's distressing to think about how little attention these abandoned places get until something tragic happens. It's not just about Lakota, but the entire neighborhood too. Robert Walker's comments about the discontinued police program really struck me. If only there had been more proactive measures in place, maybe it could've prevented this awful incident. My heart goes out to Lakota’s family, especially his young son. I hope that this tragedy pushes the community to address these neglected properties and find ways to prevent future occurrences. Anyone else have thoughts on what could be done to make areas safer?
