The tragic case of Alicia Nicole Trotter's murder has really stuck with me, especially when thinking about the role of protective orders. It's absolutely devastating to know that Alicia had reached out for legal protection before this horrifying event took place. Protective orders are meant to be a critical tool for those facing domestic violence, but sadly, they don't always stop perpetrators from acting. This situation raises so many questions about enforcement and how we can better support individuals in crisis. Alicia deserved to feel safe and to have her voice heard. My heart goes out to her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. How can we, as a community, advocate for stronger protective measures to prevent such tragedies in the future?
