In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Mobile, Alabama, the life of 27-year-old Alicia Nicole Trotter was tragically cut short. On April 9, 2017, witnesses reported the harrowing incident as Trotter was forcibly taken from her apartment by her boyfriend, 33-year-old Danny Cobb. The abduction set off a chain of events that would end in a devastating murder-suicide.
A lifelong resident of Mobile, Alicia was a mother to two children and was pursuing a future in nursing as a student at
Bishop State Community College. She was a graduate of the Williamson High School Class of 2008. Her life, full of promise and dedication to her family and studies, was violently interrupted.
At approximately 6 a.m. that same morning, law enforcement officials from the Mobile County Sheriff's Office discovered Trotter's body near McDonald Road and Interstate 10. A short time later, Mobile police officers spotted Cobb driving a white Jaguar, which led to a vehicle pursuit. The chase concluded in the parking lot of a Walmart on Rangeline Road when Cobb's vehicle crashed. Inside, officers found him with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation concluded that Cobb had killed Trotter before taking his own life.
