Has anyone looked into the type of arrows Melvin was using? Those zebra-striped arrows could have been pretty visible in the forest, especially against the green and brown foliage. If he had taken a shot at something, even if he missed, you might think there’d be at least one arrow somewhere to find. They could've been a clue to his last known location if they were recovered. Maybe they just blended in too well in certain light conditions, I keep thinking about it and it seems like one potential route that might've been under-explored. Perhaps someone who hunts that area or who’s familiar with local wildlife behavior has insights? It seems small, but any detail can make a difference in cases like this. Or maybe someone has come across one over the years, thinking it was left behind by any random hunter. Would be interesting to hear thoughts from experienced hunters or locals in Santa Fe who know more about the conditions up there!

Hey folks, just came across Melvin Nadel's case and can't stop thinking about the locked Jeep Cherokee left at the campsite. I find it so strange that an experienced outdoorsman like him would leave crucial items like his backpack and GPS behind. Anyone else wonder if the setup of his gear suggests he wasn't planning to leave for long? Maybe he intended to scout a small distance ahead, assuming he’d return quickly. Or is it possible that he trusted Nature's own markers over technology, a trait possibly from years of experience? Whatever the case, it’s puzzling that those items were left behind when he ventured out.
